Bio - In his own words...

Bio bio bio,,, what’s in a bio,,,,

Well,,,     almost an Army brat,,, irish/Italian,,, I was born on Westover Airforce base in Chicopee, MA,,, my roots are pretty much in the lovely state of Massachusetts.  I moved around a bit,,, so that going to 1 school and staying there was always the impossible task,,,,  I was in 2 elementary schools,,, 2 junior high schools and also 2 different high schools with all the moving that went on for us.

The skills I picked up on my highway of life helped me to achieve an Accounting degree alongside a minor in Theatre.   A combination that still has people shaking their heads in wonder.   I find it made the perfect sense.  The creative side of my brain needed the releases that theatre and music could provide that kept me sane for all the gobbley gook I had to study for my accounting degree.  Thus starting my love of the stage.

Musical theatre was a family experience to me,,, the whole process of making a theatrical production was the ultimate in highs for me, even more so than the actual performances which always signaled the end of that particular show.   Good thing men were always in demand.  I was sometimes doing 2 shows at once.   Which was a nite time job in itself,, meanwhile, yes,, I was working a day job too. Utilizing my college degree to pay the rent while also chasing my performance passions at night kept me satiated for a few years.

Until,,,,  a twist of fate from a friend,,, I landed my first commercial that aired on cable all down the south shore of Massachusetts for Sullivan Bros Toyota.    Once I got a taste of that,,,  I knew that I needed more.     California here I came!

This total tv whore with a love of Reality TV started the process of agent hunting, class taking and general life living out on the west coast.    Utilizing my accounting degree once again to keep the rent being paid,,, I have been pretty darn lucky with the opportunities that have come my way.

I have done a ton of extra work that have landed me on quite a few sets of some of the popular tv shows,, including a few soap operas and a few movies too.     A pilot for Discovery Channel got my face on TV  and then NBC took a shine too this hula hooping rock climbing sensitive idiot and I was cast on Average Joe season 1.    My 15 minutes of “reality” fame was extended a tad by being used in seasons 2,3,4 and getting to do a few talk shows and appearances at a bunch of charity events.   Another commercial, a few student films, independent films 2 features and even an infomercial have been done since then. And I plan to keep on trudging onward and upward towards the working actor dream I have.

The sensitive side of me has always grown up with a cat in the house and the majority of the cats I have had,, have been black,,, the best!      Horror movies, Holidays, Dancing, Coke a Cola, Garfield and some good Chinese food are other things that put a smile on this sensitive idiot’s face.

Sooooo,, stay tuned for more anything and everything not “Average”  in my pursuits of life, love and happiness.

Dennis
